We’re proud to welcome Green Aerospace to the Canadian Advanced Air Mobility (CAAM) member ecosystem. Based in Montréal, Québec, Green Aerospace is developing hybrid-electric regional aircraft designed to reduce operating costs and support the future of regional air transport. Their focus on practical, certifiable innovation makes them a strong addition to Canada’s growing advanced air mobility ecosystem.
Who is Green Aerospace?
Green Aerospace is a startup focused on advancing regional travel through the development of hybrid-electric aircraft and open-fan rotor systems.
At the centre of Green Aerospace’s work is the GR70, a 70-seat hybrid-electric regional aircraft being developed to meet the needs of airlines and regional operators. Their R&D is focused on advanced hybrid-electric open-fan propulsion, supporting the development of an aircraft that balances performance, efficiency, and certifiability.

The GR70 is being designed with strong regional performance capabilities, including a range of 1,000 nautical miles, a cruise speed of Mach 0.70, a cruise altitude of 30,000 feet, and a maximum takeoff weight of 76,000 lb (34,500 kg). Green Aerospace is also targeting a 30% reduction in direct operating costs, helping address one of the key challenges facing regional air transport today.
The aircraft is designed to accommodate 70 passengers, with a 6,000 ft cabin altitude, 6’8″ headroom, and a 110″ cabin width to support passenger comfort with the largest regional jet cabin.
Green Aerospace is more than a concept on paper. With the first prototype of its open-fan development program now completed and undergoing ground testing, the company is translating its vision into tangible technology and real-world validation.
As advanced air mobility continues to evolve, regional aviation will play an important role in improving connectivity across Canada. Green Aerospace’s work brings together innovation, engineering expertise, and a practical approach to next-generation aircraft development, strengthening CAAM’s collective efforts to advance sustainable air mobility.
We look forward to collaborating with Green Aerospace as we continue innovating together to shape tomorrow!
