The ARISE Collaborative is dedicated to fostering a more inclusive aviation industry by empowering women, Indigenous peoples, and visible minorities. Through strategic partnerships, knowledge sharing, and DEI initiatives, we aim to break down barriers, create equitable opportunities, and build a future where diverse voices are represented and valued across all levels of the industry.

The Aviation Barriers Study

In 2025, a grassroots network of industry leaders established the Aviation Barriers Committee to identify the barriers preventing underrepresented Canadians from entering and remaining in the aviation sector, and to explore actionable solutions.

With many leading organizations already dedicating significant resources to overcoming these challenges, the Aviation Barriers Study is designed to help academic institutions, aviation businesses, and industry changemakers strengthen their efforts in creating a fair, accessible, inclusive, and representative aviation sector.

This initiative is supported by Canadian Advanced Air Mobility through the WORBE grant, awarded by ESDC, to help remove barriers to equity in aviation.
